So, what exactly is Candida? And why is it so hard to get rid of?
Candida Albicans is a fungal yeast. It is present naturally in the human gut; everyone has Candida albicans living within us to some extent. Our body requires Candida to exist and our gut is also full of natural bacteria, the probiotics, which feed on the yeast and keep levels to a low number to stop it from becoming a problem.
The yeast becomes problematic when it grows beyond normal levels and spreads throughout the gastrointestinal tract… into the bloodstream and from there throughout the body. Once it’s loose in our blood-stream, the yeast then does something remarkable and changes into a fungus…
Once Candida Yeast escapes our gut, it’s loose in our blood-stream, it seems like it has a mind of its own, like alien, and it’s loose in our body. It begins to form Candida Fungus, which is protected by a powerful armor called a “chitin layer” similar to insects with exo-skeletons… a protein layer.
This fungus now settles itself into our tissue and a fungal colony quickly spreads. The fungus wrecks havoc on our body, and excretes over 300 different mycotoxins into our blood stream as a result of its own digestive processes. The fungus is protected as it has now left our gut and does not have the challenge of our gut bacteria trying to eat it. Candida Is Found In Nearly All Cancers… Is It Just a Coincidence?
A doctor who has made it his life’s work to see if cancer possibly is a fungus,
if it’s connected to Candida, and if cancer could be prevented easily.
He was ridiculed when he first suggested it twenty years ago. Today more and more scientists, doctors and patients are coming forward to stand up and say this man may be correct.
Today more and more evidence comes to light from scientists all round the world about the connection between Candida albicans (fungal yeast) and cancer. The presence of these fungi in all tumors is nothing surprising in the medical world. The official ‘party line’ answer from most oncologists (cancer doctors) is that Candida is an opportunistic organism that finds root within the existing developing tumors and grows.
However, Dr. Simonicini and others strongly disagree, because when you start looking at how Candida turns into fungus, and what happens after, the picture gets pretty clear. The first problem is that these yeasts get everywhere in our body. While they might start off in our gut, they soon pass into the blood stream and then they can end up anywhere. And they make a sugary alcohol substance as a by-product of their very existence, and this sugary alcohol feeds cancer cells.
Moreover fungi are anaerobes, which means, they don’t use oxygen to survive. If they move round our body and colonize an area of our breast or prostate they set up anaerobic conditions. And cancer thrives in situations where oxygen levels are lowered.
We can follow the pattern of development of Candida yeast to fungus to cancer below:
1. First the Candida fungi roots itself in the deep connective tissue (in the various organs.)
2. The fungus then expands, the body responds by attempting to encyst the fungi colonies, with the outcome being the formation of neoplasias, basically a tumor forms around the fungus.
3. Growth both in the surrounding tissue and other areas of the body (metastasis).
4. Progressive exhaustion of the body with consequential total body invasion.
What this means is that the Candida Fungus creates an environment in the area of our body that it lives in, and may possibly cause mutation of cells and cancer tumors to develop.
These doctors and scientists are now showing us that by eliminating Candida we can create a much healthier environment in the body… a one which fungus does not thrive in. The answer is to eliminate this fungus and prevent it from invading our bodies in the future.
Why Traditional Candida Control Methods Like Diets or Anti-funguals
Simply Don’t Work
…There are plenty of solutions out there for Candida; however, they do not deal with the root of the problem because the Candida is covered by an armor-like protein layer. The protein layer is made of the same stuff that the hard exoskeletons of insects like cockroaches are made of! This makes it impossible for our immune system to attack the fungus.
Take Candida diets’ for example… Most of the time all these ‘solutions’ do is put the fungal growth under temporary control, slightly reducing its effects. The Candida fungus sits dormant in our body, waiting to flare back up again, and it usually always does eventually!
We can go on a special Candida diet that involves no sugar, alcohol, bread, coffee, tea, pasta and refined foods. Sound easy right? Definitely not. Many people simply find this is unrealistic for their life-style; you would need an iron will-power, because if you stray from the diet even slightly, the Candida can return at full force, sometimes even stronger than before.
And remember what was said earlier? Candida remains in our body and digests it even after we die. It’s designed to break apart our body after death. Even when we stop breathing, stop eating and drinking anything, the Candida will survive and eat our body, because it’s anaerobic, it doesn’t need oxygen to survive, it creates its own self sustaining system in our body to stay alive. Taking on a Candida infection with a special diet is like bringing a water-gun to a battle-scene.
How About Anti-fungal Medications…?
If our doctor has diagnosed Candida then he will probably offer us anti-fungal medications. The problem with medications such as anti-fungals is that they place a great deal of stress on the kidneys and liver.
The side effects include headaches and nausea and it’s simply not practical to take these with any frequency as we will risk liver damage.
We have to get at the root of the problem… Candida can affect the liver. Anti-fungal medications can be extremely stressful for our liver and kidneys.
If we choose a natural antifungal, here are a few options for us to try. Caprylic acid is an antifungal found naturally in coconut oil, and has been the subject of numerous studies into its antifungal properties. Oregano oil is another option (a 2001 study found that oregano oil “is both fungistatic and fungicidal to Candida Albicans, the human pathogenic yeast”). And a study by the Journal of Complementary and Alternative Medicine showed that Grapefruit Seed Extract is effective against “over 800 bacterial and viral strains, 100 strains of fungus, and a large number of single and multi-celled parasites”.
There are some effective antifungals sitting on the supermarket shelves too! Foods like garlic, rutabaga, coconut oil and olive oil all have antifungal properties. Integrating them into our diet can make a Candida treatment plan even more effective. Although this can take a very long time to eliminate Candida.
There IS an easy, safe way that prevents the fungus from repairing its protein layer… and our immune system then simply wipes the fungus out. And our immune system is composed of Probiotic and Enzymes.

A Low Sugar Diet
Candida Albicans is dependent on organic, carbon-based compounds to build its cell walls, reproduce and switch from yeast form to its more virulent fungal form. In practice this means it needs sugars, so that’s exactly what should be cut out of our diet.
There is a misconception that we only need to cut out added sugars from our diet to beat our Candida. Unfortunately this is not the case! Candida Albicans is just as happy feasting on the natural sugars in fruit as the added sugars in our soda. A proper Candida diet involves cutting out as many sources of sugar as possible, whether they are natural or added.
If we are serious about fighting Candida overgrowth we should also steer clear of fruit as well as starchy vegetables like potatoes and yams. Reading our food labels is key because so many foods have added sugars.
So what does that leave? Lots of delicious foods! Although we will have to do without our fries and chocolate, we will find ourselves moving towards a much healthier, more nutritious diet. By using non-starchy vegetables, fish and healthy gluten-free grains we can create all kinds of tasty dishes. One simple tip? Use lots of herbs and seasoning to spice up our food.
Proteolytic Probiotics
Next up are Proteolytic Probiotic. If you don’t already know about these ‘good bacteria’ that live in our gut, they are just great for fighting off a Candida overgrowth. In fact, they can be a useful addition to anyone’s daily routine, whether we are suffering from Candida or not.

There are actually three ways in which probiotics help to control or reverse Candida over-growth conditions.

Second, they maintain the natural acidity in our stomach. This acidity prevents Candida from switching to its pathogenic fungal form. And third, they boost our immune system.

Although it is certainly true that systemic Candida can be found among these patients, it is also true that a Candida overgrowth can occur in individuals who aren’t as severely immune-compromised. Risk factors like a high sugar diet and antibiotics can disturb the balance of our gut flora and allow Candida Albicans to flourish.
When the medical community refers to systemic Candida, it generally means the type of life-threatening Candida that is seen among patients suffering from severe illness. On the other hand, when we refer to Candida overgrowth, we mean the kind of Candida infestation that mostly affects our gut and causes a wide range of symptoms like digestive problems, headaches and recurrent yeast infections.
